Curriculum
What You Will Study
Three required courses, 3 credits each, carry the fraud content. Fraud Examination introduces strategies and techniques for fraud prevention and detection. It focuses on financial fraud such as bribery, contract rigging and kickbacks, embezzlement, fraudulent financial reporting, payroll fraud, and misappropriation of inventory and other assets. You'll work through several real-life cases and examples that show how to detect and prevent each one.

You'll also see the legal requirements for serving as an expert witness and testifying in court.
Advanced Topics in Fraud looks at contemporary issues and gives you a comprehensive look at fraud investigation. Examples include litigation support, money laundering, consumer fraud, bankruptcy, divorce and tax fraud, fraud in e-commerce, insurance fraud and mortgage fraud.
Your fourth course is an elective, and you pick one of two. Business Valuation gives you hands-on experience in financial statement analysis and valuation. Governance and Ethics focuses on corporate governance issues and ethical decision making.
